Medieval Newcastle Quayside. Quayside of Newcastle upon Tyne is the waterfront of the town, used for leisure for the public and tourists as well as restaurants, bars, hotels and offices. The history of Quayside origins in the 12th century and later on, when the area was used for loading and unloading of ships in connection to the trade of especially coal, wool and lime as well as a range of other goods.
